I apparently have too much time on my hands, :] and I was reading MSN news and saw this article which is a perfect example of Jerome's speech last night. Check it out:

Wow Alex, this is a great example of what Jerome was talking about. Right on! And thank you for posting this link. This is exactly the kind of writing and information sharing I hope to see on our class blog.
What a great example of this...good job finding it. It is interesting to see how many different ways things can be said and how people interpret them.
Thanks for posting that link! "Take care and be careful" is a phrase that I use daily when saying fairwell to people I know. Reading that link made my skin crawl... Paula and Simon.... come on now. Look at all the rude and inappropriate comments they make to people each episode. I have no respect for how they speak to people. You know... I wouldn't even say speak. Speaking includes two people, Paula and Simon 'talk' AT people, not to them. Wow, I did not mean to get this worked up over it. I am a bit feisty today though... a lab TA of mine called me a 'redneck' in front of the entire class, just because of my southern accent. And I have not been able to calm down since.
This is the exact meaning I was sharing with you'll. To many times in today's society, this sort of thinking and misconception gets us in trouble. Great find and thanks for the help
Aw Richard! I'm sorry! Don't people realize that a southern accent may not mean your a redneck, it may mean your from the SOUTH? I guess not. Thanks for the rant about Paula and Simon though :] I actually totally feel the same way! Cheer up sunshine :]
