Hello everyone!
My name is Alexandra, Alex for short! I'm 23 years old and I am a Business Administration major here at UAF. I was born and raised in the sleepy little town and wouldn't have it any other way! I am the single mother of a beautiful 3 year old pit bull :] who is my pride and joy! I have a great big wacky family that completes me. My parents have been married 30 years, and I am lucky to have two older brothers who are amazing people. The little light in my life is my 2 year old nephew who is my world. My friends are the greatest gift I could have every recieved. They keep my young and real and always are sure to keep me true to myself. I wouldn't trade them for the world. I am big into art, especially painting, photography and ceramics and I try to do something artistic every chance I get. I also LOVE the outdoors, and try to spend as much time in them during the summer as I can, but I'm not a fan of snow or cold so that hinders me in the winter :]. I'm hoping to have my bachelor's degree by August 2010 and start a new adventure outside of Fairbanks. Until then, I'm employed at an insurance agency and I also bartend all while doing 3/4 time school so I keep really busy! I look forward to brushing up on my communication skills through this class but I HATE public speaking so this should be interesting! I look forward to getting to know you all! Thanks!
OH! also, I have a blog of my own if anyone would like to check it out! http://alexandrarhody.blogspot.com/
and...the pictures are me obviously and my two of my best friends Blake & Alejandro.

Hi Alex - great pictures...you look happy! That's funny that you don't like the snow and cold, but still live here. Do you already know where you are going to go in 2010? I left for a couple years before I got married, moved to Phoenix. While I enjoyed myself, I was so happy to move back! I have found that the best thing for me is to make enough money to be able to leave whenever I need to, even if it's only for a long weekend in Seattle. No place like Fairbanks :-) !!
Alex
I really enjoyed your post. Great pictures. And yes your cute lolol I understand the cold and snow issue. I am in the same boat I have been here for almost 9 years and when it's time to leave. It seems like i cant get away.
I understand what you mean about the snow and cold! I would prefer to be somewhere warmer, but then when I am out of state, I miss "home". Who knows what life will bring down the road. It looks like you have a great set of friends, and that's really important!
Cold and snow kind of define Fairbanks don't they? But wait a minute! so do blue skies, 90 degree heat and 24 hours of daylight, northern lights, small town with all the good stuff you find in a big city. I think that is why lots of us have trouble leaving this place. It is great! Oh! and what about a 90 degree temperature swing in 2 days time? We had 48 below zero on a sunday and 50 degrees ABOVE zero a couple of days later. How cool is that?
ummm Yeah the cold is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Fairbanks.
You all are sweet. I love Fairbanks, because it's home, but Seattle has been calling my name so I think my hiatus from Alaska will take me there. I need to live in a place where I can wear cute heels and go shopping and still be able to be outdoors and get dirty. I am a strange girl, what can i say! :]
Terri, I loved the 90 degree temprature swing, until everything outside my house started to melt and go IN my house! People who don't think global warming is happening, really should visit Fairbanks!
